The time has come! We are pleased to announce that participants in this year’s Healthy Horizons Destination marathon will be running in the beautiful, cosmopolitan Grand Cayman Island.

Located in the Caribbean, Grand Cayman is the largest of the three Cayman Islands. It boasts a wide variety of natural attractions, from nature reserves and a botanical park, to blow holes and the famous Seven Mile Beach. It’s also home to one of The North West Company’s very own Cost U Less locations.

This year’s Healthy Horizons team members will have the opportunity to run on this safe, beautiful tropical island on December 2, 2018, surrounded by the magnificent views of the Caribbean.

The destination marathon event is a fundraiser for the Healthy Horizons Foundation . Every year, community members are invited to take part in this exciting event, while contributing to an important cause – funding initiatives that improve the health and well-being of youth in the communities we serve.

To prepare for the marathon, each runner commits to raising $5000 for the foundation. The North West Company then donates the costs associated with the run, which allows 100% of the funds raised to go directly back into the communities.

“I felt accomplished and great that I did something literally bigger than myself,” expressed Tukai, a student from Salluit, Nunavik who took part in North West’s Healthy Horizons Destination Marathon in sunny Barbados in 2017.
