Rizza Pardillo, who was the Pharmacy Manager in Buffalo Narrows, SK in 2020, has been selected as the 2021 PAS Pharmacist of the Year.
Pardillo led the pharmacy team through the pandemic, adapting service and patient care to ensure both patients and staff always had the medications needed.
Pharmacy staff has provided service and curbside delivery of medication from house to house in Buffalo Narrows and to the remote communities of Dillon, Beauval and Turnor Lake. Access restrictions to Buffalo Narrows did not prevent them from providing proper service and care to patients from other communities. During this time, Pardillo often met with patients at checkpoints to give them their medications. In addition, due to the limited capacity of people allowed inside the store, she provided service outside the store on several occasions.
“I truly appreciate this recognition and I want to share this with all pharmacists who continue to work hard providing essential services to patients. Shout out my Northern Store family and the community of Buffalo Narrows for their support this past year,” Pardillo wrote.
Pardillo served Buffalo Narrows for about six years. In October 2020 she was transferred to Moosonee, ON as Pharmacy Manager.
