Healthy Horizons Foundation has launched the Star Icon Spring Campaign which is being held at Northern and NorthMart stores across Canada.
The Star Icon Campaign is a fundraiser for the Healthy Horizons Foundation. During the campaign, community members at Northern and NorthMart locations have an opportunity to make a donation to the foundation by purchasing paper stars (single-size or family-size stars) which are then displayed throughout the stores. The Star Icon Campaign happens twice a year. The Spring Campaign kicked off on March 21 and will end on April 24.
The funds raised through the Star Icon Campaign are invested in communities through grants that support healthy living for children and youth in the communities The North West Company serves. In the past, the foundation has supported initiatives such as literacy programs, nutrition programs, youth centers, summer camps and youth gatherings. Recent initiatives the fundation has funded include Literacy Camps in Nunavut, Youth Cooking for Elders program in Hay River, NT and Lights On program in Fort Simpson, NT.
