The Red Sucker Lake Northern Store in northern Manitoba helped to spread the love this Valentine’s Day. When the principal of Red Sucker Lake School asked store manager Jim Tabor to be a judge for a Valentine’s card and cake contest, he was happy to step in to help. Teaming up with his wife Kim, who is the finance manager at the Northern store, the two of them judged the creative designs submitted by classrooms throughout the entire school. After careful consideration, they selected the top three cakes and cards that best portrayed the spirit of Valentine’s Day.

This isn’t the first time Jim and Kim volunteered for a good cause. The two of them have taken many opportunities to support the community through their participation in various local events since they started working at the store in the fall of 2017.
“I believe it’s great when the community, and in this case a lot of children, are able to see you outside of the work environment and participating in community events,” says Tabor.
