Arviat, NU, residents undergoing quarantine will be well taken care of, thanks to care packages sent over by the Hamlet of Arviat.
In order to help curb the spread of Covid-19, residents returning back to Arviat, from elsewhere, first undergo a self-isolation period of 14 days within the Winnipeg, MB, isolation hub in order to ensure that the virus is not brought back into the Hamlet.
While necessary to help prevent the spread of COVID-19, going through self-isolation can present challenges such as boredom and loneliness, which is why the Hamlet of Arviat teamed up with the Arviat Northern store to prepare and send over care packages for residents in the Winnipeg isolation hub. The care packages contain fun and engaging items such as games, puzzles, books and more.
The Arviat Northern Store was happy to support the initiative by donating 75 gift cards as items for the care packages.
“We love partnering up with the Hamlet of Arviat because together, we’re making the community of Arviat a stronger place,” said Darren Price, Arviat Northern Store Manager.
