Northern youth will have improved healthy living opportunities thanks to approximately 100 participants that joined in The North West Company's third Annual Healthy Horizons 5K Fun Run.

Runners from The North West Company and Winnipeg's larger business community gathered at the Forks on Thursday, June 27 to participate in the annual event. The run began at the Oodena Celebration Circle at the Forks, continued past Fort Gibraltar, and then back to the Oodena Celebration Circle where participants were given a healthy snack and water.

Thanks to the effort of North West volunteers and supporters, the event continues to grow in popularity. All funds raised from the Fun Run will go towards helping support healthy living initiatives for northern youth through the Healthy Horizons Foundation.

North West established Healthy Horizons in 2015, with the aim of improving the physical activity, nutrition, and overall well-being of youth, with a focus on northern remote communities.
