There is a great focus on the environment in Inuvik, thanks to NorthMart and the students from the Climate Action Inuvik environmental group.

On Friday, May 3, students from East Three Elementary School and East Three Secondary School in Inuvik, NT, handed out two free reusable bags to each customer at the local NorthMart. By donating reusable bags, NorthMart has helped greatly reduce the amount of plastic waste within the community. Throughout the event NorthMart donated 1,400 reusable bags to customers!

“What a great opportunity for both the youth of Inuvik and NorthMart to team up together in hopes to reduce single use plastics within the community that we all share!” said Kevin Giesbrecht, Inuvik NorthMart Store Manager.
