An unfailing commitment to both her community and the Northern Store she manages in Behchoko, NT have earned Farzana Sahadata a well-deserved President’s Award for Community Support at the 2019 President’s Awards Dinner. 

The North West Company recognizes and rewards dedicated employees who demonstrate excellence in their work with President’s Awards for outstanding ability in the following categories: Enterprising, Community Support, Merchandising, Personal Balance, Passion, Customer Driven and Leadership.

Farzana – or as everyone knows her, Anna – has worked as a Nor’ Wester for 13 years, having started with the company when she was just 15 years old. It did not take long for Anna to excel in her work and become a Store Manager.

Anna constantly looks for ways to build relationships with community members and help them in whatever way she can. Whether it is encouraging the use of reusable bags, donating food for those in need, or helping with the creation of a new warming shelter for the homeless, Anna is always there for the community she serves. Her ability to provide outstanding community support while continuously raising sales is astonishing.

“I remember my first visit to the warehouse with Anna when she explained to me how it all worked there. The whole time I thought to myself; how does this young lady manage all of this?” said Dave Adamson, Director of Sales & Operations, National III.
