An annual hockey and broomball tournament in Waskaganish, QC had a great turnout this year, while raising funds to help promote sport and recreation in the area.
The 11th Annual Rupert River Cup hockey and broomball tournament brought in over 37 senior hockey and broomball teams (25 teams from neighboring communities, and 12 from Waskaganish).
Just like previous years, Northern Waskaganish sponsored the event and showed its support through a contribution of $1,000 to the community’s Sports & Recreation Committee. This contribution went towards providing participating hockey and broomball players with food, water, and accommodation throughout the four-day event.
“We're a proud supporter of the annual Rupert River Cup. It's a great event, bringing many people together whether you're getting out on the ice, or in the stands cheering on your team. It's all about getting out there, being involved, and having fun,” said Bradley Wyman, Waskaganish Northern Store Manager.
