Families who couldn’t be home for Christmas were treated to a special holiday feast, sponsored by North West.
The feast was held in Winnipeg during the holiday season, as a way to bring together members of Northland Denesuline First Nation who were unable to travel home for the holidays.
Located in Lac Brochet in northwestern Manitoba, Northland Denesuline First Nation is often hard to access, as there are no roads connecting Lac Brochet with other parts of Manitoba.
The gesture was much appreciated by community members, including elected Chief Joe Antsanen.
“On behalf of the Northland Denesuline First Nations members, we want to thank the North West Company for the generous donation which made the Christmas feast possible here in Winnipeg for members who couldn’t be home with loved ones in the north,” Chief Antsanen said.
