A visit from a large furry friend enthralled children in Kugluktuk, while also raising money for community programming for youth.
The Kugluktuk Northern continued its holiday tradition of sending a featured movie character to make special appearances across the community. This year, Kung Fu Panda was the character of choice.
“Panda was a hit with the kids and elders alike during the visits to the schools and store,” said store manager David Ho.
Not only did Panda greet all eager fans, he also performed with the store’s NWC 17-Zero’s dance group throughout the holiday season. In addition, a photo opportunity was held for the children, raising over $1,000 for the Healthy Horizons Foundation.
