A Healthy Horizons Foundation grant for $12,500 will support A Path to Youth Well-being, a project in Arviat that enhances youth participation in the various programming offered.

The Foundation will be supporting the Recreation department and the Youth/Wellness centre. Activities offered for youth include active games like dodgeball, or informative teachings such as healthy cooking classes.

“The youth get to feel good, well-supported, and they start to strive for more opportunities,” says Michelle Malla, Director of Community Development. “This Healthy Horizons Foundation grant will allow the department employees to connect more to the youth for introducing new opportunities.”
