When it comes to food there can be a misconception of a trade-off between good taste and good for you. However, a blind taste test conducted by Qikiqtarjuaq, NU’s Northern store proved – once again – that you can find products that are both.
The results were surprising to manager Michele Riley, who said, “the customers seemed to choose the healthy lifestyle sample more than I anticipated they would.”
The Health Happy products were so well received that some customers started making the switch in their purchases.
Michele adds, “I have noticed a couple customers that were in the taste test buy the brand they chose.”
Since the introduction of the Health Happy program in Northern and NorthMart stores last September, consumption of healthier food products has increased by nearly 16%. The purpose of the Health Happy program is to increase the accessibility of food products with reduced salt, sugar, caffeine, or fat content.
